After a few hundred songs you will write a hit song. ~Dan Clark
We hear a lot about what it is going to take to be successful.
Buy this tool.
Use this calendar.
Get up early.
Take this course.
What if the truth is simple yet the most difficult thing that you will ever do? What if the truth is to just do it longer.
We have all heard the stories about Michael Jordan right? He was not a gifted basketball player. He didn't have a natural talent. He had something far more important though. He had a commitment to be better. We can call that drive but drive without self commitment is nothing.
So if you know that you will have to publish a few hundred blog posts until success, is it worth it? It seems to me that the people who don't give up on their ideas are the ones who find success.
The other day I heard someone say that entrepreneurs are scientists.
He asked a question that blew my mind a bit: Would you want a scientist to give up after their first attempt at curing cancer?
Of course not. Where would we be in the world if Steve Jobs had given up and never created the iPhone?
Ok maybe it would be a bit more peaceful but you get the point.
If you are a blogger, you are an entrepreneur. If you own an Etsy shop, you are an entrepreneur.
If you are a blogger, you are a scientist in your own right. If you own an Etsy shop, you are a scientist in your own right.
So go forth and create a few hundred ____________. Get good at it. Practice. Be ok with sucking. Be ok with winning too though.
