Twitter is my new favorite place to hang out. I prefer it over all other forms of social media. Twitter is what I take with me to the bathroom and it is what I check in the line at the grocery store. My love of Twitter is because it is so concise. When you have no choice but to get to the point, the world is a better place.
With Twitter you can connect with people purely based upon a hashtag or a single word. With Facebook you have to be friends or like their page and that becomes too much effort. For example, I discovered that on Sunday nights there is a chat that happens on Twitter about blogging. Of course, I got there and started chatting with folks on the hashtag #blogchat a couple weeks back and meet people that I was not even searching for. You too can be connecting with people on Twitter; far more people than you ever imagined.

Let’s talk Twitter Tips folks!
Tweet is no longer just the sound that bird makes. It is a tool and if used appropriately a wonderful tool for any business. This tool can be used to reach new clients, inform current clients, communicate with teams, learn, and so much more. Today we are going to discuss two twitter tips PLUS 3 more.
Twitter Tip #1 Share the Love:
All of us business owners love references. There is no better advertisement then word of mouth. Retweeting someone is essentially referring someone to your people.
People love to be retweeted and consider it a real compliment. Retweeting allows you to share information not only with your followers but also with their followers as well. Show gratitude to your followers and retweet 2 people a day.
Twitter Tip #2 Don’t forget the paper:
If your twitter name is not already on your business cards, pull out 10 cards and write it on there. Today, when you are out in the universe hand those cards out and ask people to follow you on twitter. Don’t forget to ask their twitter handle as well.
Plus 1:It’s not all about You.
Just talking about yourself can be a real turn off for people. Yes, we all think that we are awesome and frankly we mostly are or at least me. However, it is important to not just be pimping ourselves out. So talk about the space around you, such as what is happening in the world around you.
Plus 2: Ask Questions.
Conversation is not one sided, so ask questions thru twitter. Don’t be afraid to ask what people would like in your business. You just never know where a question will lead, you may gleam a new product out of it.
Plus 3: Don’t be Boring.
Tweet a tweet that you would be interested to read if it were from somebody else. Every tweet should have a purpose but be interesting and have fun.
