One of the best ways to get more eyes on your blog posts is to get more people to share it. We already have social share buttons at the top and bottom of our blog posts and sometimes even on the sides. However, there is something else that we can do to enhance the sharing of a blog post.
We can write a tweet, put it in the middle of the post with a button that says click this to Tweet this quote. It shows your reader exactly what they would tweet out when the click on it.
Click to Tweet is a free WordPress plugin that I recently started using and installing on client’s blogs. In this short tutorial I will show you how to use this plugin on your blog.
This WordPress plugin allows you to easily create tweetable content for your readers. Use pullquotes and custom messages inside the body of your blog post to highlight your content for the reader and make it simple for them to share on Twitter.
Step 1: Place your cursor inside your blog post, where you would like the tweet to show up.
Step 2: Click on the Twitter icon (inside your post dashboard)
Step 3: Write your tweet that you would like readers to share.
Tip: Keep this Tweet at around 100 characters. If you are not sure about character count, use this tool.
Step 4: Click OK
After clicking OK, you will see something similar to the area highlighted in red below.
This makes it easy for everyone. You get to control the Tweet and they know what is going out into the world without having put any thought into themselves.
This FREE WordPress plugin is super easy to use and it is a win win for everyone.
3 Tips on writing a good Tweet:
1. Don’t make it too long. Try and keep that Tweet at about 100 characters. This will leave plenty of room for ReTweets.
2. Make the Tweet a tip and not just a promo. People love sharing value bombs that make them look good.
3. Add a hashtag
Conclusion
Using a tool such as Click to Tweet, makes it easier for readers to share your content. Having a ready made Tweet embedded in the post encourages sharing.
